NVIDIA’s LTE-capable SHIELD Tablet is now getting Lollipop

Thursday, November 27, 2014

Need something to be thankful about this Thanksgiving? If you’ve bought an NVIDIA product recently, the sweet treat you may be about to receive will fit the bill. A first for LTE tablets, the SHIELD Tablet LTE Lollipop update has begun its rollout right before Turkey Day.
In case you don’t recall, the SHIELD Tablet runs a nearly-stock build of Android, with a few NVIDIA improvements sprinkled in here and there. The update brings with it an enhanced version of the Dabbler drawing application, and there’s still NVIDIA’s GRID, free for the device until June 30, 2015.
As far as we can tell, the update should be live for all users of the 32GB/LTE version of the tablet as of right now. You can check for the update by heading into Settings. We’re unable to check for Lollipop ourselves though, so let us know down in the comments if you have the SHIELD Tablet LTE Lollipop update waiting for you!
